30 Charter Public Schools Named 2020 California Distinguished Schools

By California Charter Schools Association

Charter public schools are ending the year, and decade, on an award-winning note.

Earlier this week, the California Department of Education announced its list of elementary schools being named 2020 California Distinguished Schools. Thirty elementary charter public schools won the honor.

The award recognizes schools for outstanding programs, practices, closing the achievement gap, and exceptional student performance. The winners will be honored next February during an awards ceremony at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.

As the CDE notes, this award represents not just excellent teaching, learning, and collaboration, but also highly successful school climate efforts ranging from real-time conflict resolution to positive behavior intervention.

We want to congratulate each of the charter school principals, teachers, staff, and parents who are working tirelessly each and every day to ensure students across our state receive the quality education they deserve.
