Who do charter schools serve?

California’s charter schools are public, free, and open to all students.

But who exactly do they serve? Charter schools are serving all students, regardless of background, zip code, or ability level. They are built on the belief that every student should have the opportunity to go to a great school that puts their needs first. The table below provides a detailed demographic breakdown of our state’s charter schools:
