CharterNation

The voice of California’s charter school movement

Congratulations #CharterNation Grads!

By Ana Tintocalis

We’d like to take this moment to commend all of the state’s charter public high school seniors who are finishing this 2020-21 academic school year strong and receiving their diplomas!

Over the past month, charter public schools up and down California have been finding creative ways to hold commencement ceremonies that meet CDC guidelines, ensuring that high school seniors have the best possible experience celebrating this life-changing accomplishment.

Some campuses livestreamed the event. Others held ceremonies in atypical venues like drive-in movie theaters and fairgrounds. And some even organized graduation car caravans!

But now that California is lifting pandemic-restrictions for businesses and vaccinated individuals, we're expecting to see many more in-person graduation ceremonies throughout the coming weeks.

No matter the venue or approach, this is the time when California’s charter school students and educators shine bright.

Here’s a look at how charter high schools big and small are celebrating this milestone:

Congratulations Charter Nation High School Graduates of 2021!
